A bit about Fabiano Santacroce
We're relying on wikipedia for this little bio as personally I know nothing about him....
According to what I read Fabiano is a Brazilian/Italian who currently plays for Napoli in the Italian Seria A league, although in FM2008 he plays for Brescia in Serie B. The president of Napoli describes Fabiano as the new Alessandro Nesta, so thats some rating right there, but who is the say the president isn't a bias nutjob?

Valuation and contract
Fabiano's value is very low at the start of the game. The value is around just under 500k so if you want to buy him he won't cost much, however he is under contract until 2010.
I did a test and bid 500k for him at the start of the game and Brescia agreed to let him go for 650k so you can get him on the cheap early.
Stats
In our test game we had a look at his stats and have written a bit about each one. What are his strengths.
Tackling |
Tackling is obviously the most important stat for a defender and Fabiano has a top notch stat here, doesn't need tuning he just has the talent. |
Positioning |
Another key area for a defender is positioning, if he can't be in the right place at the right time then he isn't going to be any use.
In our test game he had a very high statistic here so mix this with tackling you're already seeing why he has potential, even without looking at his actual potential rating. |
Concentration |
How many times do you see defenders losing it near the end of the game when defenders play a huge role in 1-0 leads coming into the dying moments. Fabiano has a very high rating here so you can depend on him keeping his concentration. |
Heading |
Another important stat is heading as defenders do that a fair bit don't they? Well this rating is also high so he seems to be nearly a complete package already... |
Bravery |
Blood pouring down the face, its an image some of us remember of certain big name defenders so this stat is important mixed with heading as he can get stuck in and doesn't care if he ends up with a broken nose. |
The Gaffa's opinion
Depending on what stats Fabiano gets at the start of the game will depend on luck a bit but one thing is for sure, going off of his potential ratings he is a good player and his stats usually show this early on.
Rating: A lot of potential
